Don’t know about you but, February for us has been bit low key month for us. Mostly recovering from the festive and crazy party season and bringing life back to routine. We’ve been sitting in and having friends over which we feel honestly is the best way to spend quality time. You can never go wrong with home cooked delicious meals and gaming sessions. Be it online sites like free bingo in the UK, Pictionary, Monopoly or a classic card game. All you need to do is plan out your food before hand. Keeping the menu simple is key, and the early prep ensures you are free to play with your guests when they arrive.
One of the good things about entertaining at home, is you have full control over the quality of food and drinks, and nothing like making it an healthy affair for everyone. Easy healthy Dips, Salads, Cheese platters, Oven Baked veggies / meat, and a slow cooker crock-pot. All of which can be done before and still make everything one think you’ve been slogging for hours. To take the notch up a bit higher, create some signature cocktails, stuff you don’t see and can’t order outside.
One of my new favourites is this wonderful Antioxidant Raspberry Cooler. Not only does it look royal it also packs a ton of nutrients. And to start with, its un imaginably easy and in a second I’ll tell you why you should be making this. Though this one’s non – alcoholic, you can spike it with your favourite poison and viola – it’s a cocktail !
A seductive rich ruby red raspberry is not only a pretty sight for the eyes, this wonderful summer fruit is delicious and is packed with a whole lot of antioxidants, it is low in calories and fat and high in fiber.
To mention a few benefits …
- ? 100 g berries hold just 52 calories but provide 6.5 g of fiber (16% of daily recommended intake)
- ? Fresh raspberries are excellent sources of vitamin-C
- ? They are rich in B-complex group of vitamins and vitamin K. The berries contain very good amounts of vitamin B-6, niacin, riboflavin, and folic acid
- ? Raspberry contains anti-oxidant vitamins like vitamin A, and vitamin E
- ? They contain a good amount of minerals like potassium, manganese, copper, iron and magnesium
Given the benefits this small berry carries, you would be tempted to find more ways to include it in your diet …
Besides desserts, I find coolers another great way to have raspberries. Make them healthier by choosing natural sugars, adding other nutrient dense ingredients and you’ve got your self a whole new world of guilt free healthy and healing drinks.
