Chocolate Caramel Brownies

There’s no controlling when you see a perfectly baked brownie. Every diet, every meal plan goes right through the window and you succumb to that gooey chunk of brown, chocolatey goodness and your soul takes trip to heaven and back. Now imagine all that topped with caramel. You can never have enough brownie recipes in your collection, and every recipe just gives you that excuse to bake another batch. The good thing is, these are tried and tested recipes, so you shouldn’t really give it a second thought. This recipe here, makes a perfectly gooey, rightly dense brownie and the caramel and chocolate spread swirl on the top, give it that extra oomph and a crispy exterior. They taste insanely good warm, serve with some A quality vanilla ice cream or try pairing it with come coffee gelato or any thing you fancy really. Go on now … preheat your even, bring out those ingredients and start cracking’


  • ½ cup butter + 1 tbsp
  • 130 gms dark chocolate
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons cadbury chocolate spread
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce

Chop chocolate, and place chocolate and butter in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until mixture is mostly smooth and melted.
Add vanilla and sugar, and mix well.
Add eggs, and stir well. (Be sure chocolate mixture is not too hot when adding eggs, or the eggs will cook when they are stirred in.)
Add flour and oil, and stir until combined.
Pour mixture into a foil-lined 8×8 pan.
Melt the chocolate spread for 10-30 seconds in the microwave,
Melt the caramel for 10-20 seconds till runny,
Now drizzle both of these equally over batter. Use a spoon or knife to swirl into batter.
Bake brownies at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. until edges are dry and pull away from the pan slightly.
