Chia Puddings are one those things that can be enjoyed any time of the day. Be it at breakfast, snack time or dessert. Its my go to mini meal that really satisfies my hunger pangs and I know I’ve treated my body well with it. Making the Chia pudding itself is extremely easy. All you have to do is mix it with your choice of nut milk / milk / yogurt and if needed sweetened lightly with maple syrup / honey / coconut sugar or stevia. Pair it with some fresh fruits or with a smoothie and you got yourself a healthy meal.

Tiny Seeds with a Rich History… Chia is used from beverages to baked goods, these tiny black and white seeds from the Salvia hispanica plant have a long history. Grown in Mexico and South America, chia seeds are said to have been used by Mayan and Aztec cultures for supernatural powers.

Chia is one powerful little seed – A 2-tablespoon (1-ounce) serving contains 138 calories and 9 grams of fat, along with a whopping 10 grams of fiber, 5 grams of protein and 18 percent of the daily value for calcium. It’s also surprisingly packed with alpha-linolenic acid omega-3s — 4,500 milligrams per ounce, more than you’ll find in flaxseed.

So if you are looking for healthier eating options, Chia puddings should surely be on the list .



makes 2 portions

  • 5 tbsps Chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp Maple syrup
  • 300 ml Almond milk or any milk of choice
  • 4 Kiwis
  • 2 Frozen Bananas
  • 100 ml Almond Milk
  • few leaves of Spinach
  • 1/2 cup homemade granola
  • 1/2 Green Apple


Strat with making the Chia pudding. In a jar mix the chia seeds, maple syrup and 300 ml almond milk. Stir well and leave in the refrigerator for 20-30 mins. or till the seeds have plumped up and the milk soaked up. If you feel the pudding looks dry, add some more milk.

Cut 2 kiwi fruits into cubes. Place at the bottom of the glasses.Top with the Chia pudding.

To make the smoothie, blend together the frozen bananas, spinach, remaining 2 kiwis and 100ml almond milk. Again if needed add a splash of milk to bring it all together.

Pour over the chia pudding and top with Granola.

Garnish with some sliced green apple. Serve chilled.
